All solid and liquid substances have a “surface” and there exists an “interface” between two immiscible substances. The Division of Colloid and Interface Science has been conducting research to understand the phenomena taking place in these “interfaces” and construct novel “interfaces” with high functionalities. Through collaboration between members in different fields such as chemistry, physics, and mechanical engineering, and also cooperation with industries, we aim to produce outcomes that contribute to improving the quality of life (QOL).
